Description-
This is the spirit of Haida Gwaii by Bill Reid and it was created 1986. You can find this in the back of 20$, Vancouver airport and at Washington D.C. It is made of bronze and the colour I see is green. The size of this sculpture is (3.89x 3.48x 6.05x meters). I can see two people and lots of animals on a boat going somewhere.
Analysis-
The first thing i see on this sculpture is a man with a lot of animals. for this sculpture the artist us asymmetrical (different on each side). there is no spot on this sculpture that is more darker or more brighter and there is nothing repeated on this sculpture.
Interpretation-
Two people and a lot of animals is riding on a boat going somewhere and what the artist is trying to say is it represent the Aboriginal heritage of the Haida Gwaii region in Canada. I think the artist is connecting this sculpture with nature with the animals. I don't know if it expressing this with a feeling or emotion and in some places it shows some pattern and the title of this sculpture dose show what it means.
Judgment-
I think this sculpture is connecting with nature in some way with all the animals. one thing i like about the art work is it has me thinking like where are they going, why there is a lot of animals on the boat, who are the people on the boat, and that is just a few things that I was thinking about this sculpture and that is why I like this art work.
